Kenmore Dishwasher F8E1 Code Slow Drain

F8E1 / 8-1: slow drain

If your Kenmore dishwasher empties slowly and shows this code, work through the manual in order. The same sequence holds for HE, Elite HE, Global HE and MicroClean HE units.

• Cut power. On HE, Elite HE and Global HE, also close the water supply.
• Inspect the drain path and clear any obstruction found.
• If the path is open, look at the drain pump wiring (on MicroClean HE, the wiring between the pump and the control board).
• Reconnect loose wires; a damaged harness is replaced.
• When the wiring checks out, the drain pump is the part to replace.
