Quick answer
What to check when a Kenmore Elite 721 range shows F19 and the lower oven stays cold.
Model compatibility
Kenmore reuses codes across series and model years, so F19 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What thiscode means
F19 is a lower oven not heating code on Kenmore Elite 721 electric and double-oven gas ranges.
Which range do you have?
F19 is listed for the Kenmore Elite electric range and the Elite double-oven gas range, both with model numbers starting 721.
Electric: power first
See if the upper oven elements and surface burners heat.
If none do, the range may be receiving 120 volts rather than 240 volts. Reset both house circuit breakers for the range, since a tripped breaker is not always obvious.
Still cold? Unplug the range, look at the power cord connections on the terminal block, tighten loose wires, and replace the cord if it is damaged.
After this, the manual hands the job to a service technician, since live voltage testing is dangerous.
If only the lower oven elements fail, the harness between the lower bake element and the relay control board is checked with the power unplugged. Element and sensor readings are for a technician.
Gas: supply first
Light a surface burner. No gas there means the range gas supply valve should be opened. Gas there means the lower oven bake igniter may be weak. It needs to glow until white-hot so the safety gas valve opens. Anything past a visual check is technician work.
